The unit we got was tastefully decorated with tea.

I had appetising food for breakfast with a vegetarian option. The staff were nice and knew the area. Its location was marvellous back to the pub.

The team provided an excellent service. I've booked deluxe twin room and everything was excellent. The location was marvellous and peaceful, for example, The Journey was within easy walking distance of the hotel.

Check-in and check-out timings felt cramped, with only a short window to enjoy the facilities, breakfast, or relax in the garden. The ground floor rooms can get quite hot. Some areas showed signs of previous leaks, which could affect the overall comfort. While the parking permit is useful, it only offers 3 hours of free parking daily, which may be a hassle for longer stays.

The location was great and fantastic, on top of a hill with easy access to a supermarket and stores. There were big size and airy rooms with a beautifully modernised bathroom and a lovely view of the castle, for instance. Actually everything was good, my next choice again in Durham...

Charming stay with fab views

Really loved our time here! The room was spacious and comfy, and the breakfast options were awesome, especially the full English. Only thing was the breakfast room felt super quiet, like whisper territory. The location is perfect for exploring, so many good pubs just a short walk away!

Consider requesting gluten-free breakfast options upon arrival. they were excellent and not widely advertised.

The room was clean and comfy, and I especially loved the super shower in the spacious bathroom. Relaxing in the lovely garden with a glass of wine was a real treat, and I also enjoyed chatting with other guests over breakfast. On a minor note, it got a bit noisy at night, but it didn't really ruin my stay. 😊

Solid choice for a holiday in Durham with good price-quality ratio. The room wassuper clean and cozy, a relief after a long trip. Just be cautious with directions as the streets can be tricky to navigate around here.

Although parking was limited and navigating the cobbled street was a challenge in snowy weather, the overall experience was very satisfying.
